Notes: | The fourth Solid State game produced by Williams and the second to feature electronic sound. Tom Cahill, former Service Manager for Williams, told us that Disco Fever was the first game Williams engineered to have speech. A talking prototype was presented at the Chicago AMOA show. Production games did not have speech. Williams' 1979 'Time Warp' is the only other Williams game produced with the curved "banana" flippers. Their first game to have them, the 2-player Jai Alai, only got as far as the prototype stage and never went into production. Williams Daily Production Logs indicate a 4-player replay game named 'Super Jai Alai', approved for 300 sample games but none made, was deleted from the Log on Apr-3-1978, the same day that an approved 300 units of 'Disco Fever' first appeared on the Log. This is not a coincidence as both games had banana flippers, which means a decision was made to re-theme the game before production. Production Run Records for Disco Fever: 6006 total (records inexplicably change from 6007) Sample run: 300 Production Start Date: Jun-15-1978 / Production End Date: Jul-7-1978 First ship date: Jun-16-1978 / Last ship date: Unknown, remaining 1 shipped out with production games. Production Run: 5706 (if not 5707) Production Start Date: Aug-14-1978 / Production End Date: Nov-2-1978 First ship date: Aug-14-1978 / Last ship date: Nov-8-1989 Product History Record for Disco Fever: Quantity produced for USA/Canada: 3285* Quantity produced for export: 2725* Total quantity produced: 6010* Price to Distributor: $1235.00 *These quantities may be sales estimates. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
